1 February 2025, we successfully hosted the IEEE Indonesia Section Annual Meeting & Member Gathering at Politeknik Elektronika Negeri Surabaya (PENS), East Java, attended by 250+ dedicated volunteers and members onsite, with 50+ participants joining online — featuring inspiring discussions, engaging sessions, and groundbreaking tech live demonstrations: robotics and virtual reality, performance from IEEE student members from PENS, ITS, and UNESA.

The morning session was dedicated to productive meetings with Section Officers, Affinity Groups, and Chapters, led by IEEE Indonesia Section Chair, Dr. Kurnianingsih. Simultaneously, a vTools training session was conducted for Student Branch Chairs, equipping them with essential skills to enhance IEEE operations and initiatives.

The afternoon session featured insightful IEEE Region 10 leadership talks, offering valuable perspectives from R10 Director, Prof. Takako Hashimoto, R10 Section & Chapter Chair, Prof. Jennifer Chua Dela Cruz, and R10 Student Activities Chair, Dr. Natt. A thought-provoking panel discussion brought together experts from government, Dr. Denny Setiawan, industry, Mr. Satriyo Dharmanto, and academia, Prof. Khoirul Anwar, highlighting the role of IEEE in driving technological advancements and societal impact. Additionally, live tech demonstrations captivated attendees, showcasing cutting-edge robotics and virtual reality innovations. The event concluded with an awards and recognition session, honoring the outstanding contributions of volunteers and members who have played a crucial role in IEEE Indonesia’s success.
