Bandung, West Java—October 31, 2024. The Industrial Automation and Robotics Education Study Program held a session using the innovative MediCase Technology to promote awareness and educate the local community about the hazards of Multi-Drug Resistance (MDR) in Cipaku Health Center, Bandung. More than 40 community people attended the event, eager to learn about MDR and how to treat it through effective medication adherence and the use of technology.
Mrs. Verasari Febrianty, M.D., the head of the Cipaku Health Center and Mr. Nurul Fahmi, the project leader, opened the ceremony. Their statements stressed the importance of utilizing technology to increase health literacy, particularly in the context of drug resistance, a serious public health issue. Following the introductions, Mrs. Anggie Karina Fitria, M.D., a medical practitioner, delivered an excellent lecture on multidrug resistance. She addressed the causes, consequences, and critical importance of adhering to prescribed treatment regimes in limiting the spread of drug resistance. Mrs. Anggie highlighted through clear explanations and real-world examples how untreated or poorly treated infections can progress to MDR, making the condition more difficult to cure and dramatically raising healthcare expenses.
The seminar concluded with a hands-on session where participants were exposed to the Smart Medicine Box, an innovative tool developed by the MediCase Team to aid in medication adherence. Furthermore, the Smart Medicine Box sends out regular reminders, tracks medication intake, and saves user data for better health management. The event encouraged participants to consider how this technology could have a direct influence on their own and their family members’ health by lowering the dangers connected with poor prescribing behaviors.
The MediCase Team guided attendees through an interactive demonstration of the Smart Medicine Box’s capabilities, demonstrating how its user-friendly design and accessible features make it a viable option for people of all ages. Participants practiced using the device by setting reminders and reviewing usage data.
The program concluded with a feeling of hope and empowerment for attendees, who felt more equipped to manage their drugs and comprehend the consequences of MDR. This event depicted how merging medical expertise with cutting-edge technology may bring major health advantages to communities while also encouraging long-term well-being and sustainable health care practices.
Ultimately, this training program emphasized Cipaku Health Center’s commitment to preventing MDR and promoting community health using community-based initiatives and cutting-edge technologies. Thank you to IEEE MTTS SIGHT for funding this initiative, which made this impactful community event possible.
